 The Way of the Master

by Ray Comfort

Growing up in the Midwest during the late seventies and eighties, I was often invited to church youth group events. At these events the youth Pastor or his helper would give a short message and then ask if anyone wanted to “accept Jesus into their heart.” I remember raising my hand and thinking, “Sure, if that gets me into heaven, I will do it.” With that, I would repeat some prayer that the Pastor said and leave the meeting thinking I was good to go. The problem was, I did not understand the gospel. I didn’t see myself as a sinner, in-fact I didn’t even know what a sin was. I had no idea why Jesus had to die on the cross and I didn’t even believe the resurrection was true. Unfortunately, this is the case with many people in the world today. They have made a false profession of faith, not truly understanding the gospel and their sin.

In this book, Ray Comfort explains how the gospel should be shared. He points out the necessity of using the law to bring about conviction in the heart of the unbeliever. He explains the need for repentance and faith and the role of grace in the conversion of an individual.

If you would like to become more active in your evangelistic efforts but are not sure where to start, this book is a great place to begin. Pick it up today and begin the journey.
